Handmade Dim Sum Creations Fit for Royalty at PARKROYAL on Beach Road!
[Singapore, 31 March 2020] Tian Fu Tea Room by Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Roadunveils its Classic Imperial High Tea 经典宫廷下午茶that showcases delicate dim sum treats said to be favourites of Chinese royalty, plus other special inspired creations by Executive Chef Zeng Feng.
Known as Singapore’s first Chinese tea room concept within a restaurant, Tian Fu Tea Room is tucked within Si Chuan Dou Hua Restaurant at PARKROYAL on Beach Road. The cosy space decked out in traditional wooden furniture is home to a selection of over 30 types of premium Chinese tea that are masterfully brewed by tea connoisseurs.
Classic Imperial High Tea
A first of its kind at Tian Fu Tea Room, the Classic Imperial High Tea highlights the best of traditional treats from Northern and Southern China – bringing back revered classics for all to enjoy! Available from 1 April to 30 June 2020, 2.30pm to 6pm daily,the menu consists of ten NEW dim sum creations; all skilfully handmade by Executive Chef Zeng and includes a refreshing welcome beverage of homemade plum juice and free-flow of premium Chinese tea (diners to choose from eight different types).Each set is priced at SGD38++ per person and UOB cardmembers will enjoy an exclusive 1-for-1 promotion*!
Executive Chef Zeng and his team have painstakingly recreated, as authentically as possible, ‘palace’ classics that were said to be enjoyed by the imperial family. Highlights include:
- Royal Steamed Corn Bun 宫廷小窝头; a hollowed-out bun that resembles a corn kernel
- Steamed Glutinous Rice Bun with Red Date Paste 艾窝窝; a chilled treat that is packed with red date paste and topped with a candied red date
- Chinese Muffin 江南松糕; is made from rice flour, layered with red bean paste, then topped with a sprinkling of dried Osmanthus flowers
- Glutinous Rice Rolls with Sweet Bean Flour 驴打滚; a dainty treat of white lotus paste coated with soy bean powder
- Purple Sweet Potato Pastry 紫玉凉糕; a delicate rice flour treat filled with sweet potato and coated with desiccated coconut
- Steamed Ham and Minced Meat Bun 缠丝油花; a warm bun filled with pieces of Chinese ham, minced meat and spring onions
- Fortune Green Bean Glutinous Rice Roll 如意豆卷; red bean paste is moulded to resemble a ruyi – a curved decorative sceptre that symbolises power and good fortune – and then rolled within glutinous rice dough
- Minced Meat Pancake 黃桥烧饼; a flaky pastry stuffed with sautéed minced pork
- Chinese Pastry with Radish and Sesame Seeds 芝麻萝卜酥饼; a sesame-seed speckled pastry filled with savoury strips of radish and baked until golden-brown
- Millet Porridge 养身小米粥; a dessert known to be good for digestion, Tian Fu Tea Room’s version includes red dates and wolfberries that add a natural sweetness to this fulfilling dish
