Kolam by the One United Team of PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur
This November, join the associates of PARKROYAL Kuala Lumpur in celebrating the festival of lights. Witness the beauty of Deepavali Kolam decorating as the associates gather together at the lobby to create their own Kolam decoration in a form of a peacock with colourful feathers, topped it off with a Happy Deepavali 2018 greeting at the foot of the Kolam.
The beautifully decorated Kolam was carried out on October 29th 2018, Monday which intrigued hotel guests and onlookers and prompted them to ask questions and take photos of the whole team decorating the Kolam.
The Kolam, also known as Rangoli, is a folk art from India, consisting of vibrant colours in the form of flour and rice. The Kolam is a decorative design which are primarily made in living rooms and courtyard floors during Deepavali. The significance of it is a symbol of prosperity, good luck and blessings to one’s home. Designs can be simple geometric shapes, deity impressions, florals or as elaborate as a peacock which symbolises benevolence, patience, kindness, compassion and luck.
