Singapore, 25 September 2020 – Pan Pacific Hotels Group (PPHG) officially presented 25,000 complimentary stay vouchers to three national healthcare groups yesterday in honour of Singapore’s healthcare heroes’ dedication to the nation during the COVID-19 pandemic. This is timely as it was exactly eight months ago on 23 January 2020 when Singapore confirmed its first case of COVID-19.

As a tribute to their sacrifices in combating the virus, healthcare workers are invited to enjoy a well-deserved respite with their loved ones at any of the Group’s six hotels in Singapore from 1 December 2020 to 31 March 2021.

The Singapore-headquartered Group presented these complimentary stays vouchers to the healthcare heroes and heroines from SingHealth, National Healthcare Group (NHG) and National University Health System (NUHS).

Keeping to the spirit of COVID-19 restrictions, the vouchers were presented by Mr. Choe Peng Sum, Chief Executive Officer of Pan Pacific Hotels Group to each of the healthcare group representatives at three intimate, separate ceremonial events.

Representatives who were present at the events include Professor Fong Kok Yong, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of SingHealth, Professor Philip Choo, Chief Executive Officer of National Healthcare Group and Professor Yeoh Khay Guan, Chief Executive of National University Health System.

Mr Choe Peng Sum said at the ceremony, "Looking after our guests, associates and the community has always been at the heart of what we do. We deeply appreciate the efforts and sacrifices of Singapore’s healthcare heroes who put in the extra hours and bear the risk being infected as they remain committed to care for their patients. These vouchers serve as our token of appreciation for their exceptional spirit and service to the nation and community through this crisis.”

Professor Yeoh Khay Guan, Chief Executive of the National University Health System (NUHS), said “On behalf of our colleagues at NUHS, I would like to thank the Pan Pacific Hotels Group for leading this effort to support our healthcare workers. Over the past few months, healthcare workers have received an outpouring of support from the community, and that has helped many of my colleagues at the frontline get through this difficult period. We want to take care of our staff as we continue the fight against COVID-19, and this respite package comes at the perfect time. We encourage them to take a break to spend quality time with their family and loved ones – a simple joy which they have had little of in recent months.”

Properties participating in this initiative include the newly renovated PARKROYAL COLLECTION Marina Bay, PARKROYAL COLLECTION Pickering, PARKROYAL on Beach Road, Pan Pacific Singapore and Pan Pacific Serviced Suites Beach Road.

Each stay comes with a-la-carte buffet breakfasts, no additional charge for children under 12 years of age and discounted rates for dining at all hotel-operated restaurants and spa services at St. Gregory.

Beyond their stay, healthcare workers will also be given preferential room rates and a complimentary fast-track to the next elite tier in the Pan Pacific DISCOVERY loyalty programme, to enjoy more privileges during future stays and dining at the Group’s 50 properties across 29 cities.

Wide-ranging benefits for all healthcare workers

Called "HERO" (Healthcare Employees Recognition & Ovation), the initiative not only pays tribute to healthcare workers from the three public healthcare groups with opportunities to relax and recharge with their families.

All healthcare workers in Singapore will also be provided with preferential rates when they stay at any of the Group’s hotels and Serviced Suites in Singapore, along with 50% savings for dining and 30% on spa treatments during their stay from 1 December 2020 to 31 March 2021.

To enjoy these privileges earlier, healthcare workers can start enjoying 30% savings when they dine at any of the Group operated 20 restaurants and bars in Singapore. Truly, a way to recharge and re-energise after months of hard work.
